Get your orders in now and join us for a hot, delicious hāngi here at Cobham this term!
Our Māori student leaders with help from Whaea T, Miss Noetzli, Matua Nathan Riki and Matua Reg Riki are planning and putting down a hāngi at school on WEDNESDAY 30th NOVEMBER.This date is locked in regardless of the weather. All prep work will be done the day before on the Tuesday 29th November.
We want as many students, staff and members of our local community to be able to participate in some way - either by donating any kai that could be included in the hāngi, helping with the preparation of the hāngi pit or kai to go into the hāngi or by hopefully ordering a freshly cooked hāngi lunch for just $10 for one, $15 for two!
Main food items included in the hāngi - pork, lamb, chicken, spuds, cabbage, pumpkin, carrots and stuffing.
All whānau/community members who have ordered a hāngi are welcome to come along on the day to pick up their order at 12.30pm and take it away or join us all for a hot, delicious hāngi lunch at school - our kapahaka group will be performing too!
All money raised will go towards covering the costs of putting the hāngi down and any left over money will go towards a planned noho marae trip for next year and our Year 8 prizegiving. Feel free to share this with you friends and family!
